I intended to make the image black and white, and due to an error in the program it came out blue. I kept the blueness. Otherwise, no digital trickery.

Intent:
This is a series displaying finality and a lack of expressive emotion. However, this does not mean the image lacks expression or emotion. Simply that the expression is supposed to be driven from the light and shadow play; which is, in my opinion, quite intense. The sharpness in contrast is to show a hidden nature and depth of questions underneath the figure. Her expression is designed to elicit no response, but the shadows, hair, and hand placement is intended to drive the image.

Construction:
There is no digital editing on these photos. When exporting from the camera I exported them as black and white images with high sharpness. Her skin and hair are wet in these images. The depth of field seems a little unnatural, with great intention, for the aforementioned reasons.

Update:
The original image is the top image. I am updating these as a triptych to match the rest of my gallery. I intended to make the image black and white, and due to an error in the program it came out blue. I originally kept the blueness, however, it was time to upload a more mature version.

Love the deep contrast, the blue worked very well, by the way.

The contrast was a product of the lighting and the water. But the blue was a program hiccup that turned out ok

I really like the blueness! I think it adds something the the piece. This is very emotive, and I like the harsh lighting.

Beautifully done :wow: Pity it's with the watermark though... (In this piece it's really disturbing, though I do understand why it's there )

Its actually harsh lit from two points, but the hands shadow her face which gives that illusion :)

It isn't really all that different in black and white. I only left the blue because black and white is becoming a cliche in photography.

I think the blue tone is great, and though black and white would be nice too I think this ended up having more impact.

Yeah. I feel that black and white becomes a cliche unto itself anyway. Which is why I kept the blue nature.

I think Black & White has it's place but it can be overused.
The blue definitely works really well for this!
